Sabrina Edgewater, teacher of deportment,
first encountered her nemesis in a London dockside brawl that earned
him the nickname of “Texas Viscount.” She never imagines that the
lout will turn out to be the earl of Hambleton’s heir. Joshua
Cantrell is brash and bold, a self-made millionaire who only agrees
to become a viscount to ferret out an international conspiracy. The
last thing he needs is to lock horns with a prissy little
schoolmarm, even if she is cute. The stakes are raised when Lord
Hambleton offers Sabrina money enough to open the school she’s
always dreamed of if she’d only take the rough edges off his heir.
Does she dare risk her reputation to achieve her heart’s desire? Or
is her heart’s desire the Texas Viscount?
"This entreating early twentieth century romance brings to
life the beginning of the end of the aristocratic rule of England
though the antics of the lead couple. He is a brash American while
she is a Lady in need of money to attend school as a means of
bettering herself. The story line is at its best when Josh pretends
to be a bonehead because he enjoys teasing his beloved after meeting
her during a dock side brawl. The late intrigue adds tension, but
seems unnecessary as the cast makes this a wonderful historical tale
of manners." -- Harriet Klausner,

Best Reviews
"Shirl Henke’s spin on Pygmalion comes in this last
installment of her American Lords series, Texas Viscount.
I was immediately drawn into the mix of factual history within the
fictional love story. Texas Viscount starts off very
promising but somewhere along the way Josh’s Gomer Pyle act started
to grate on my nerves. Sabrina is starchy and overbearing at first
glance, but once she lets her hair down so to speak she changes into
a very daring heroine that I got a kick out of. The overall
chemistry between Josh and Sabrina is one hot commodity!" --

A Romance Review
"Readers will truly enjoy the way the sparks fly between the
tough Texan and the staid English lady. Henke incorporates
witty dialogue and plenty of sexual tension into a suspenseful plot."
